88
From the publisher: "Between August and November 1988,
NATO conducted a total of 67 larger exercises. The majority of these exercises
were conducted on the territory of West Germany, and the greatest troop
concentration took place in September 1988. Some 385,000 troops with 2,600
MBTs and 1,160 helicopters trained simultaneously. Among other forces,
no less than five corps were fielded. From 19-23 September 1988, the 1st
(NL) Corps conducted its last corps-level FTX named Free Lion 88. A total
of 44,000 troops took part in the exercise, including soldiers from the
Netherlands, from West Germany, from the USA and from the United Kingdom.

Tankograd Missions and Manoeuvres No 7019 Ejercito
De Tierra: Vehicles of the Modern Spanish Army
From the publisher: "As many other NATO armies, the
Spanish Army had to deal with a major reorganisation effort after the Warsaw
Pact was disbanded and the Cold War had ended, to convert into a modern
force capable of international deployment on peace-keeping and humanitarian
missions. Under severe budget restrictions most modern combat systems,
such as the Leopard 2A6E main battle tank and the Centauro wheeled armoured
infantry fighting vehicle, could be fielded. However, the conversion process
is not over yet. This publication shows - despite the restrictive Spanish
information policy and scarce photographical documentation - the vehicle
pool of the army in Spain itself as well as on the missions abroad. The
main focus is given to those vehicles that serve exclusively in the Ejercito
De Tierra. The 64 glossy pages include 130 colour photographs.

Tankograd Missions and Manoeuvres No 7020 Magyar
Honvedseg: Vehicles of the Modern Hungarian Army
From the publisher: "The Hungarian Army was one of
the cornerstones of Warsaw Pact military strategy. As late as 1988, the
peacetime strength of personnel in the armed forces reached 106,800 soldiers
supported by 1,435 tanks, 2,310 AIFVs/APCs, 1,750 howitzers, 270 anti-tank
guns, almost 500 air defence systems, and much more. Today, Hungary is
a NATO member, has other tasks such as peacekeeping missions and, as of
2010, the total personnel strength is only 23,000. This publication is
on one hand a sentimental journey back to the vast equipment of Warsaw
Pact times, on the other hand it allows a closer look onto the current
situation with even western vehicles being introduced. Special chapters
cover, among others, the BTR-80A wheeled armoured infantry fighting vehicle
and the T-72 main battle tank.
Tankograd Missions and Manoeuvres No 7021 JGSDF Vehicles
of the Modern Japanese Army
From the publisher: " All around the globe Japan is
well known as one of the major industrial nations. One of the core industries
of Japan today is car production. When compared with Japanese commercial
cars, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) military vehicles are not
so well known. One reason is that the Japanese government prohibits the
export of weapons, and another is that the JGSDF has been dispatched to
foreign countries only for peacekeeping missions or to use firing ranges
in the USA. Besides, most articles about the JGSDF only ever appear in
Japanese-language publications. It is therefore hoped this book will deepen
the reader's understanding about the JGSDF and its unique range of vehicles.

Português Vehicles of the Modern Portuguese Army
From the publisher: " As many other NATO armies the
Portuguese Army was subject to major reorganisation after the threat from
the Warsaw Pact had vanished. What makes Portugal's ground forces of today
so special is that the army was organised around three unique brigades
that can be deployed around the globe and used in low-intensity and high-intensity
conflicts. The Rapid Reaction Brigade, the Intervention Brigade and the
Mechanised Brigade and their supporting elements can create a highly effective
battle group deployable everywhere on short notice. This publication grants
a unique view into the motorpool of this army of specialised forces for
missions abroad. The 64 glossy pages include 145 colour photographs.

Tankograd Missions and Manoeuvres No 7023 Yugoslav
Armies Armour of the Yugoslav/Serbian Armies from 1945 to Today
From the publisher: "Few armies field an armoured
corps with such a turbulent history and such an unusual motorpool as the
Yugoslav Armies since World War 2. While the early years were dominated
by captured Wehrmacht vehicles and supplies from the Allies, the 1950s
saw major influence by the American side. In the 1960s a change of policy
saw the introduction of Soviet and Warsaw Pact vehicle material, before
in the 1970s domestic production mostly took over. While many other books
focus on the Civil War on the Balkans in the 1990s, this publication shows
for the first time the variety of Yugoslav and Serbian Armour covering
more than sixty years of history and with many hitherto unpublished photos.
" The 64 glossy pages contain 54 b&w photographs and 90

Tankograd Missions and Manoeuvres No 7025 10
Brygada Kawalerii Pancernej Vehicles of the Modern Polish Army‘s 10th Armoured
Cavalry Brigade
From the publisher: "With Poland's joining of NATO
on 01 April 1999, a new life began for 10 Brygada Kawalerii Pancernej (10
BK Panc), and it affected both its organisation and its equipment. The
new NATO member immediately created a cooperation base with neighbouring
Germany to purchase Western equipment from Bundeswehr surplus stocks. The
target was to equip a brigade-sized unit with Western equipment, an undertaking
that up to the present day has never been repeated by any other NATO country.
Based on hitherto unpublished photographs this publication shows the motor
pool of 10 BK Panc, consisting of Polish, Russian and German vehicles that
at the end of the last century were opposing each other on both sides of
the Iron Curtain but today jointly train and fight." The 64 glossy
pages contains 127 colour photographs. Complete English
